A trek through the east kimberley

Howdy folks!!  Its been a long time between writing anything in here I know, im not very good at getting things down sometimes!  But really wanted to share this with you all - I just got back from an incredible hike through the majestic and rugged East Kimberley region of Western Australia with 2 great mates of mine, and thought i'd share some of the photos from the trip with you.

We did about 50kms over 2 and half days from a little place called Harry's Hole, to the largest single drop waterfall in the Kimberley, and possibly WA, called Revolver Falls, and then onto the western shore of Lake Argyle, where we were picked up by boat and whisked back to Kununurra via Lake Argyle Resort.  It was an absolutely amazing time, with plenty of waterfalls, mountain ranges, swim throughs, up hills, down hills, sweeping vistas, gorges, red rocks, amazing views, you name it it was all there!  Accompanied by Benjamin Broadwith and River Raine we got through relatively unscathed (spinifex scars and scrapes and cuts from rocks and sticks dont count as war wounds in the Kimberley!) and mate it through safe and sound.  It really was a phenomenal time, one of those things where it is really hard to explain how majestic and wild the time actually was - camping out under the stars, carrying everything you need with you on your back, exploring places seen by only a lucky few in the whole history of time, in one of the most remote and unforgiving, yet beautiful parts of the world.

Check out the some of the photos below from the trip that I took - i'm not usually one for taking photos, but I felt this trip needed documenting!

And in other news, plenty of gigs coming up!!!  Check out the TOUR page for details of them - Adelaide Fringe Festival shows coming up, some in Kununurra, and then an EP launch tour that starts at the beginning of April.  So yes, a new CD is coming your way in the very near future!!  About time eh?

Catch you all very soon im sure, somewhere in this great land of Oz!

Well its been a busy week and half back in Mandurah/Perth since finishing the last tour - got the new website up and running, finishing off tax returns (aren't I a good musician!!) catching up with mates for birthdays and other shenanigans, played a gig at the Jarrahdale Tavern with Heath Marshall, sorting out paperwork, festival applications, grant applications, and also been finalising all the details for the Five Rivers Medicine Show at the Adelaide Fringe festival next year!!!  Which i am pleased as punch to say we have gotten into!  Hence i guess the little posting on the left hand side here of the lineup and details for the shows........also i am just waiting to hear back from the Perth Fringe festival as well as to whether we will be included in their lineup as well, so i'll be able to let you know all that sometime after the 24th of this month......so not too long to wait.  Im really looking forward to the next run of Medicine Shows, after the phenomenal amount of fun we had earlier this year in the Kimberley, its going to be a bloody ripper to be able to take it to new places and audiences over the next year.  If you have no idea what the hell im talking about in regards to the Five Rivers Medicine Show, just click on this link www.fiveriversmusic.com  and you'll be able to see what i'm talking about - but needless to say if you're a fan of real music played exceptionally well by amazing musicians, then you really cant go wrong im thinking.....

Anyhow, gotta go and say gday to a few mob and get ready for a weekend of tunes that im NOT playing for a change - Fantastic band and very good mates of mine Blue Shaddy at the Duckstein Brewery Oktoberfest in Margaret River on sat arvo, then onto the Prince of Wales in Bunbury that night to see Gombo rip up the stage and play a home town gig for singer/guitarist/drummer/all round bloody legend Ryan Dillon aka Dillo (drummer in my first ever band when i was 15!) Good times i thinking!

Catchya!!

Well i'll be!!!  Finally, the website is here and up and running!!  Took a little while longer than it should have to get going but the day is finally here.  Have a look around and please feel free to tell me what you like, what you dont, and what else you would like to see here on the site.  Its not completely finished yet, still a bunch of videos and some live audio recordings of gigs to come, plus a heap more pictures from the last tour with Ill Starred Captain to be uploaded over the next few weeks, but pretty stoked to be able to share itwith you all nonetheless.

I'll check in here from time to time and keep you all updated with my movements, gigs, recordings and any other info that i think you might find iteresting, incessant ramblings and dodgy musings and the like, so keep checking in from time to time if you like.

And yes, that is me with a moustache trying to impersonate Tom Selleck.........YEEHAH!!
