ITS THE LITTLE BIT LONG WAY TOUR!!!
Righto all you mob all over Australia!!! After a ridiculously amazing time out at El Questro for my yearly residency (9 weeks with 6 -7 gigs a week this time around!), its time for the next tour of this big land of ours! Looking forward to catching up with everyone on the way round, and to writing some new tunes, getting the next album recorded, playing music, going to places new and old and everything else in between!! Check out the poster right here on this page for the QLD dates for August and September, and check back in for the next instalment of dates which will be for NSW in Oct and Nov........YEEEEEEEHHHHHHHAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! VICTORIA / SOUTH AUSTRALIA / WA / QLD ............ YOU'RE NEXT!! Righto folks!! I've got a bunch of assorted goodies all over the southern reaches of Australia over the next few weeks, as well as a quick jaunt up to Queensland for the Wintermoon Festival near Mackay at the start of May! There's a few of these dates on the poster to the right, so check them out and hopefully catch you at a show somewhere! Really looking forward to the run of shows with fellow road dogs Ill Starred Captain (check them out right here!) who I've done a heap of shows and touring with in the past, as well as all the other gigs coming up........And after these shows, there's a quick run up the west coast of WA to finally finish off the "Hell West and Crooked" Tour - its been a pretty mammoth journey around the country on this trip (as most of my tours are I suppose!) and there's plenty more to come in the future......You little ripper!!! TAMWORTH FESTIVAL AND BEYOND
11/02/2018 Well, that was a hectic 18 shows at the Tamworth Music Festival in January this year! Many thanks to my amazing band that played with me for the majority of these shows - Cameron "Slash" Walsh on the gee-tar, Josh Blaikie on the drums and Jay Hoad on the electric and double bass........Killer players and funny buggers to go along with it - thanks lads! And thanks to all the people that came down for a listen, a dance, bought an album, said hello, or just enjoyed the tunes - I love what I do, but I certainly couldn't do it without all your support you legends!!! There's plenty coming up in the near future, kicking off with the Lake Charlegrak Country Music Marathon from the 15th-17th of February, which has a pretty killer lineup! From there it's over to the Eyre Peninsula in South Oz for a two week run of shows, which I'm immensely looking forward to - It's a part of Australia that I really love going to and the mob down there are some of the best you'll ever hope to find! From there there's a few more shows around South Oz, then into outback NSW and back through Victoria, before scooting back over to WA for a few shows around the south west corner. After a flying visit to QLD for the Wintermoon Festival on the 4th-7th of May, myself and Luke O'Shea (now a 9 time Golden Guitar winner!!) will be doing another tour together up the mighty West Coast, from Perth to my hometown of Kununurra. We'll be making a film clip for the title track of the next album "Little Bit Long Way" along the way, as Luke and myself wrote the song together and we think she's come up pretty darn good! Speaking of the next album, It's in the final few songs of writing, and I'm recording some rough ideas as I tour the country. I'm hoping to get it recorded sometime around the end of August this year and have it out by November or so! Then its back to El Questro for my yearly 2 month residency starting on the 1st of June, then back over to Far North QLD for a tour with the Hillbilly Goats and Luke O'Shea in August, and then a tour down the QLD coast, and then.......well, I'm sure you get the idea!! See you on the road you mob! |

New Album and Video
|
Chris' 4th album "HELL WEST AND CROOKED" was released in March of 2017, and it's one fantastic selection of songs. Recorded very simply, with Chris performing the song as he would at a solo acoustic show, it's highly representative of his incredible live shows. The first song off the album, "Kimberley Time", has been put out in to the world accompanied by a video clip shot by the very talented Ben Broady.....check it out right here!

NEW ALBUM, NEW VIDEOS, NEW TOUR.......
Gday folks!! It's been a massive year so far, and its just about to get even busier! After doing 100 shows in 4 months out at El Questro, I've been home in Kununurra recording a new album which should be out at the start of December. I've recorded this one with just me solo, playing guitar, stomp and singing, all live and in one take, so it's pretty darn representative of what I do live.....Title still to be decided upon as yet, and there's one song left to record, and once that's done she's off to get mixed by legend fella Dave Mann, and then mastered by Colin Wynne down in Melbourne. I'll keep you informed as she's comes through!
I've also been busy doing a bunch of live clips filmed by Ben Broady up here in the Kimberley, and also a video clip for a tune called "Kimberley Time" which is off the new album.....its gonna look pretty darn cool this thing, as Broady is one heck of a cameraman, and up here in the Kimberley we certainly have no lack of amazing places and landscapes to film!
And the next tour kicks off next week in Katherine in the Northern Territory, which I'm really looking forward to! This tour is going to be my biggest yet, at about 8 months in total and a full lap of the country including Tasmania. There's festivals, house concerts, front bars, country pubs, paddocks, town halls, lounge rooms and everything else in between coming up and more, with plenty of good times, music, fun, and hopefully not too many breakdowns! Head to the Tour Page for all the dates as they come to hand!

2016 UPDATE and UPCOMING SHOWS
Well, well, well......What a cracking start to 2016 its been! I wrapped up the East Coast tour in support of the "Ten Tales From Ghost Gum" album at the start of February, and took a month off at home in Kununurra after a hefty 80 shows and about 40,000km on the road in 5 months, which conveniently happened to coincide with the hottest Feb on record up here. Needless to say the gigs I had at home in that time where some of the sweatiest and hardest i've ever done (and that's saying something!)
But after a few weeks at home I hit the road again to tour the West Coast of WA with fellow artist extraordinaire Kev Lymn, and this tour was one of the best i've ever had! The gigs were absolutely superb the whole time, with shows in places as diverse as outback cattle stations near Marble Bar (thanks Yarrie Station mob!), seaside resorts, front bars to folk clubs, and even a Fire Station (true!) and some great festivals like the Ravenswood Blues and Roots Festival and the Fairbridge Festival. Fairbridge in particular was outstanding, with packed tents and rooms at all the shows and I was one of the highest selling artists of the whole festival in terms of albums, which was rather unexpected but amazing at the same time! Thanks to all the mob who came out to any of the shows - I absolutely love what I do, but this last tour just made it seem that little bit more special!
I'm back home again now in Kununurra after wrapping up the west coast tour, and i'll be up here for a little while playing shows in the East Kimberley during the dry season. I'll once again be the resident muso out at El Questro Wilderness Park, which is one of my favourite places to play in the whole world, and have some fantastic festivals like the Kimberley Moon Experience with Troy Cassar-Daley and the Palm Creek Festival over in QLD in June at which i'll be performing. There's also a return trip to Iceland and Denmark in September and October later this year, as well as a mixed bag of assorted other gigs and shenanigans that'll be happening throughout the year. Head over to the TOUR DATES page for all the info on them, and hopefully i'll be seeing you somewhere along the way in 2016! Cheers you mob!!!

"TEN TALES" Tour, FESTIVAL NEWS, AND LIFE ON THE ROAD
Gday from the road folks! To be precise, Townsville in Far North Queensland (Thats FNQ to all the southerners!) So far the "Ten Tales" tour has been trucking along at cracking speed, with some great shows and festivals and a hell of a lot of good times! There's heaps of gigs coming up down the east coast from now until January, plus the Tamworth Festival, a West Australian tour from Kununurra to Albany and back, and the Fairbridge Festival in April.
First off the bat though, the Airlie Beach Music Festival was an absolutely incredible time, with some amazing crowds coming along to the shows and really digging what I was playing, so thanks you mob!! Also big thanks to Butto and the crew for organising yet another wicked shindig, and to the Hillbilly Goats for letting me join them on stage once again. Make sure you check the goats out if you ever get a chance, these mob are laying down some fine old school bluegrass like no one else is doing in the country.
After the Airlie fest it was back Cairns for 3 shows, then up to Cooktown for a couple at the RSL - and once again the mob there showed exactly why Cooktown is an asylum run by its own inmates!!! So much fun and craziness yet again from the Cooky mob, and I absolutely loved it! I'll be back hopefully in August next year for another go!
Big thanks to Nicky Nouse for organising some great shows in Townsville and Magnetic Island, and also for getting me onboard the Spaceville Podcast whilst I was there. Lots of back and forwarding on the car barge to get to and from Maggie Island was a real pleasure, and the tour vehicle RoadRunner seemed to enjoy the high seas!
From here though, its back to Kununurra for a week via airplane, for 2 shows at home, then back to the east coast for gigs in Townsville, Sarina, Airlie Beach, Mackay, Maryborough, Yandina, Toowoomba and Maroochydore over the next two weeks. Should be some good times ahead I'm thinking!
See you on the road folks!

GYMPIE MUSTER, AIRLIE BEACH FESTIVAL, UPCOMING ALBUM LAUNCH TOUR and other bits and pieces!
Gday folks! Well, this week finds me finishing up my residency at El Questro, with a mammoth 92 shows in 112 days nearly done and dusted. Its been another amazing few months of playing one of my favourite gigs in the country, and thanks to the many thousands of people who came along, said gday and listened to songs both new and old! I do thank you for it immensely!
Also thanks to everyone who came along to the show on the main stage at the Gympie Muster - what a great stage to play on, and amazing to play with such amazing musos like Glen Hannah, James Gillard, Steve Fearnley and Brendon Radford who were my backing band for the day - cheers fellas!
Also, I must say that I was pretty stoked that "Something Good", one of the tracks off the new album, got to #6 on the Triple J Unearthed charts, and also was the 6th most added song to community radio stations in July....pretty cool stuff indeed!
Coming up though, i'll be taking a few weeks off to travel the top end of this country before the gigs start again in earnest from November onwards, kicking off with the Airlie Beach Festival from the 5th-8th of November.
This is the start of the "Ten Tales from Ghost Gum" album launch tour, which will take in the whole east coast twice over the months of Nov, Dec and January, finishing up at the Tamworth Festival at the end of Jan. Dates will be added to the tour page as they come along, but i'll be hitting up most places along the way as usual and looking forward to catching up with you all. Check out the TOUR DATES page for details of when i'll be in your neck of the woods.
Cheers you mob and see you on the road soon!

NEW ALBUM "TEN TALES FROM GHOST GUM" OUT JUNE 14th
Chris is just about to release 4th full length album, "Ten Tales From Ghost Gum", and be prepared for something a little different to what you've heard from him before. This time around its a full band affair on the new release, with blazing electric guitars, drums, bass, harmonies, and the whole kit and caboodle! Containing some of the best songs that Chris has written to date, and with the spectacular musicianship and blazing fretboard antics that you've come to expect from the road dog warrior, this is certainly one heck of a record.
Coming out on iTunes from the 14th of June this year, and available in hard copy shortly afterwards, make sure you grab a hold of this one when it's released. With artwork once again supplied by the amazing East Kimberley based artist Jackie Ellis, it looks as good as it sounds.
Chris is also once again based out at El Questro Wilderness Park in the East Kimberley region of WA, where he will be playing 4-6 nights a week for the next few months until the end of August, so if you're up in that part of the world, drop in and say g'day.

THE END OF 2014
As the year draws to a close, I must say its been a fantastic year.....Im currently in the small town of Laurieton on the NSW coast after finishing my last gig for the year near Port Macquarie last Sunday, and after a tally of this years shows, it seems I've done just over 200 shindigs. So thanks to all who came out and supported the gigs, said gday, bought a CD or two or helped me out along the way - I couldn't do what I do without all your help!
Next year looks like she will be just as busy as this one, and i'll let you all know exactly whats happening a little bit further down the road.....but in the meantime, have a great festive season and i'll be catching you all in 2015! To round of the year though, here's a little video of myself performing a track called "Ocean" a John Butler instrumental that I often get asked to play.
Cheers
Chrisso

I'm now back home in Kununurra and getting ready for some Far North QLD shows and the Airlie Beach Music Festival in November......looking forward to catching up with all the crazy FNQ'ers and getting back to that magnificent part of the world - its' been a few months since I was last there in February, so super happy to be coming back to do some more gigs for you all! All I have to do is play a few shows here at home, then drive across the top end of Australia from Kununurra to Cairns in about 4 days.....how hard can it be!

ICELAND TOUR and UPCOMING SHOWS
Gday folks! Im currently winging my way to Iceland for shows in a very different part of the world to Australia! After a mammoth 86 shows in just under 4 months at El Questro (thats 6 nights a week), i'll be in the northern reaches of the world until mid october, playing shows in various parts of the country with some local Icelandic acts, doing some writing and also taking some time off music to see what the country has to offer.
Fear not however, as i'll be back in Australia soon to do a full national tour of the country, starting in Cooktown on the 26th of October, and then down to Airlie Beach Music Festival after that, before taking in the rest of QLD, NSW and Victoria to round out the year. The tour will be to help promote and release both the new live album which is currently being mixed and also "Capricornia" which I released a little earlier this year. Looking forward to catching up with all my eastern states crew over the next few months, its been a while since I was over there!
The tour dates will be up on the TOUR page very soon, so check back in over the next few weeks to see when i'll be around your part of the world.

LIVE ALBUM RECORDING and TOUR NEWS
With only a few weeks left til I finish up my residency at El Questro Wilderness Park in the East Kimberley region of WA, its time for a new live album! I will be recording 2 shows on the 17th and 19th of August with sound guy legend and all round champion bloke Michael Fletcher (Blue Shaddy, Jeff Lang, College Fall) capturing the sound, and the best songs of each night will be included on the release. So if you're around that neck of the woods in mid August, get yourself out to ElQ and become a part of the next album.
My last gig at ELQ for the year will be Sat the 30th of August, and then I will be scooting off to the northern climes of Iceland for the month of September and half of October for an odd show or two and well earned break, before heading back to Oz to round out the year. The new live album will be released on the 24th of October, and to coincide with this new release and also the new CAPRICORNIA album released on the 1st of June, i'll be off on a massive tour of Australia, encompassing all states and territories of the country, starting in Cooktown in far north Queensland on the 24th of October. The dates will all be put up on the website soon so stay tuned for them as they come online.

EL QUESTRO RESIDENCY AND CAPRICORNIA NEWS
Gday Folks!
If anyone's wondering whats been happening, i've been out at El Questro in the remote north west of Australia playing at El Questro Wilderness Park for the last month. I'm their resident musician once again for 4 months this year, playing 6 nights a week at the Swinging Arm Bar located at the station township, so thats been keeping me busy! We've had some cracker nights so far, most notably last Thursday when there were about 500 people scattered around the bar, going absolutely nuts on the dance floor and drinking like no tomorrow - YEEHAH! So if anyone wants to find me between now and the end of August, get yourself up to the Kimberley and you'll find me at El Questro!
Also, the new album "CAPRICORNIA" with the amazing artwork provided by Jackie Ellis, is almost out on iTunes! It will be available from this Sunday, the 1st of June on all good online retailers like Amazon, iTunes and many many more, so choose your appropriate store and away you go! Have a listen to some of the tracks above this post to see what the album offers, but there is 12 tracks all up, ranging from some rocking tunes to folk n' roll, to atmospheric bits and pieces and some rollicking instrumentals on the 12 string......and even a bit of classical in the form of a little bit of Bach!
I'll also be off to Iceland at the start of September for a few shows and a small break before the onslaught of Australia begins again in earnest, with a massive tour of the entire country starting in Darwin on the 12th of October and heading east over to Cairns, and then down the east coast, across the southern reaches and back up the Western Australian coast - should be one hell of a way to round out the year!
Catchya on the flip side, and pretty excited that the next album is almost out! YEEHAH!!

APRIL MUSINGS AND TOP END SHENANIGANS
A big shout out to all the crew who came out and saw a show on the just completed West Australian tour. With shows in Perth, Ravenswood, Scarborough, Geraldton, Monkey Mia, Carnarvon, Coral Bay, Exmouth, Wickham and Sth Hedland, this was a short tour by my standards as it was only 2 weeks long and it was 11 gigs all up, but what a ripper time it was! It was great to catch up with supporters both old and new and play a heap of new tunes from the new album, and a bunch of tunes from old days as well. Speaking of the new album, i'm just waiting for the artwork to be completed, and when thats done, "CAPRICORNIA" will be ready for you to pursue with your eyes as well as your ears! Im pretty excited to be able to get this new record out, and share some new tunes and sounds with you all.
I'm now back home in Kununurra, and have a few shows up here over the next few weeks, and then once again I will be heading out to El Questro as they have invited me to again be their resident musician for the year - when a place as incredible as that asks you to come back, you can't really refuse now can you! I'll be out there from the 5th of May til the end of August playing 4-6 nights a week. I can't wait to get back out there and do a heap of playing, a heap of writing for the next album (no point in mucking around really is there!?!?!) and heaps of camping, hiking, exploring and adventuring in the best part of Australia! YEEHAH!!
In some other non music related news, I'm also participating in the Lake Argyle Swim at the start of May. Myself and good mate Broady, who some may recognise from photos from our crazy hikes to remote places in the Kimberley, are doing the 10km Duo swim, so 5kms each all up! Im not a natural swimmer by any means, so this should be a good challenge to say the least. I'll also be playing after the swim at the Presentation Dinner, so I have a feeling i'm going to be sleeping well after all that. Wish me luck!
Before then though, heres a few gig dates for the next few weeks. You can also go to the TOUR dates page to see where i've been over the last few months and years if you're super keen!

GREETING FROM CAIRNS and UPCOMING ALBUM UPDATE!
Once again its been awhile between updates on the website, but as always its because Chrisso has been busy going here, there and everywhere in between playing shows and doing all things musical. He is currently up in Cairns playing a few shows in FNQ, and will be off to Melbourne in the upcoming week for some shows with Glenn Musto, before jetting back to Perth and then back to the home turf of the East Kimberley for a few shows to kick off March. As always, head to the TOUR page for more details about upcoming gigs in your neck of the woods.
Previous to all this though, Chris has been busy playing a bunch of shows around the south west of WA, a quick jaunt to Sydney to catch mandolin extraordinaire Chris Thile in action at the Sydney Festival, was up in Kununurra for a raucous NYE show out at Lake Argyle, and most importantly, recording a new album!! The tracking and mixing is all completed, and will soon be sent off to get mastered and pressed in time for release date somewhere around the end of March. The album is set to be titled "CAPRICORNIA", and is a mix of all things Chrisso is known for - some ripping instrumentals on the 12 string guitar, plenty of slide guitar harmonies, some rollicking country, folk and roots tunes, some guest stars in the form of Dave Mann and Harry Jakamarra on guitar and banjo respectively, and is definitely a step up and well worthy successor to "It Goes To Eleven". More details to come soon but this album is set to be a ripper!
More to come in the near future folks, stay tuned!!

Yes, its been a long time between updates here on the website.........however slackness is definitely not the reason! Chris has been absolutely flat out gigging his little socks off the last few months at El Questro Wilderness Park in the heart of the East Kimberley, playing every night of the week except for Mondays (everybody needs a little bit of time off every now and then, including Chrisso!) Its been a whirlwind time, with many songs being written and many songs being played, hiking, swimming, 4wd driving all over the countryside, camping, meeting of people, and most importantly, good times. Chris finishes up his residency at ELQ on the 8th of September, and will then be doing a short jaunt down the west coast of WA before taking time off to record a double album......yes you did read that correctly - a double album!! More info to come in the next few weeks so stay tuned for updates on the recording and gigs.

THE NEW EP IS OUT NOW ON iTUNES!!
Thats right folks, Chrisso's new EP "Five Songs for Six Strings" is now available on iTunes, head to the LISTEN/BUY page or click right HERE to be taken to the ITunes page where you can grab yourself a copy in the digital realm! There's 5 songs on it, including a cover of Richard Thompson's "The 1952 Vincent Black Lightning", a staple of Chris' live set for years now and finally a version is available to take home with you! Also on the EP is "Getting Things Done", "That's What They Call Learning" (one of his more mellow moments ever recorded to tape!) Chris will be touring to promote the launch of the EP up the west coast through the month of April - head to the TOUR page for all the dates and venues and check where he is playing. A short tour by Chrisso's standards at 14 odd shows (but probably long by many other yardsticks!) but there's exciting news in the works afterwards, so stay tuned for that! There's also a few shows this weekend as a pre tour warm up at the Jarrahdale Tavern on Saturday night, and then the Ravenswood Hotel on Sunday arvo, and seeing as though its Easter its a good excuse to get out and about.
So once again, "Five Songs for Six Strings" is available now on ITunes, and also in hardcopy once the April tour kicks off into gear on the Friday the 5th! See you on the road!

After a stellar run of shows with the one and only Simon Phillips in Victoria at the start of February, and a Five Rivers Medicine Show at the Perth Fringe Festival soon after, Chrisso is now back in Kununurra for a couple of shows in the old stomping grounds of the East Kimberley. You can catch him this Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd of March at Gullivers Tavern for some fine tunes and good old fashioned hoe down, Kununurra style!
Chris has also almost finished a new 5 track EP, which he will be releasing from in April with a WA tour up and down the coast, taking in his usual haunts and venues - check out the TOUR page for all the shows. WIth just a few final tweaks to go on the mixing and mastering stage, this should be a nice little collection of tunes to add to your collection.
And just around the corner is the Adelaide Fringe Festival dates for the Five Rivers Medicine Show, on the 9th, 10th and 11th of March at a couple of different venues. Check out the Five Rivers page for all the details, or the TOUR page on this site for more info.

And Kununurra fans, Chris will be returning shortly with some shows coming up at the start of March, at the one and only Gullivers Tavern.

So plenty to whet your appetite for the start of 2013, in what promises to be another hectic year. Also, keep your ears peeled, for there have been whispers of a Canadian tour later on in the year.......

The end of another big year, and in 2012 Chrisso certainly packed in the kilometres on the road in the ever faithful van, playing over 150 shows in pretty much every state of the country as per usual. After a quiet end of the year with a bunch of writing, drinking of red wine and swimming at the beach, things will ramp up again slowly throughout January into yet another busy year of touring and playing everywhere he can. To keep up to date with gigs, don't forget to head to the TOUR page, to listen to some tunes head to the MUSIC page, and to keep on track with the Five Rivers Medicine Shows coming up at the Adelaide and Perth Fringe Festivals, head to the FIVE RIVERS MUSIC webpage for up to date details. In rather exciting news, Chris is now the owner of a brand new Churchill guitar, hand made by luthier extraordinaire David Churchill in his workshop in Ballarat, Victoria. Check out David's guitars at www.churchillguitars.com and have a look at these amazing sounding instruments. Also, if you would like to hear the new instrument in action, Chris has a cool little session coming up this weekend at the Old Coast Road Brewery in Myalup on Saturday the 17th from 1pm onwards - the weather is looking fantastic this weekend and it's also the last day of WA Beer Week, so come on down and sample some ofthe fine brews on offer and listen to some tunes - Chrisso recommends the Porter style beer apparently!!
25/10/2012
Chris Is heading back to the East Kimberley this weekend for a couple of shows - Saturday the 27th at El Questro Station for the last Saturday BBQ for the year, at the one and only Swinging Arm Bar, this is always a ripper of an evening so make sure you have both your drinking and dancing shoes on for this one! Then on Sunday the 28th its off to the Lakeside Resort in Kununurra for their "Cocktails and Tapas" sunday session from 3pm around the pool, which should make for a great recovery session after the previous nights shenanigans. Then its back to ELQ for the End of Year staff party on Monday the 29th!

The live album which I recorded a little while back is also on the way, but with the change in schedules, flights around the world and my Dad passing away things have been pushed back in that regard, so its now looking like late November for that one instead of the end of this month. Stay Tuned!

Apart from that, there's plenty of gigs, festivals, travelling and playing of music aplenty ahead! Good times indeed!

You can catch him this Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd of March at Gullivers Tavern for some fine tunes and good old fashioned hoe down, Kununurra style!
